Bucks Star Myles Turner Reveals Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ‘Really Cool’ Change

Myles Turner has only played in a few games alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, but he has already seen enough to understand his opportunity this season with the Milwaukee Bucks. After making it all the way to the 2025 NBA Finals, Turner and the Pacers ultimately lost in a dramatic seven-game series to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Although fans presumed that the Pacers would retain him, Indiana was willing to let him walk, and the Bucks swooped in to acquire him this offseason. Given that Tyrese Haliburton’s torn Achilles crushed any chances for the Pacers to continue contending in the near future, Turner’s decision to join the Bucks may have been the right call.

The latest addition to the Bucks recently appeared on the “Thanalysis Show” and discussed the adaptations he had to make to his game after realizing that he would be sharing the floor with Antetokounmpo.

How Does Myles Turner Feel About Teaming Up With Giannis Antetokounmpo?

The Bucks’ signing of Turner caught the basketball community off guard since the star center had spent his entire career with the Pacers. He had grown accustomed to protecting the rim, rebounding, and blocking shots, statistical categories in which he has found success over the past several seasons.

Out of all the forwards in the league, an argument could be made that Antetokounmpo is one of the most dominant and unstoppable. In fact, the Bucks star has the height and wingspan to outrebound most centers across the league. Playing alongside Antetokounmpo, albeit for only a few games so far, has been a very different experience for Turner.

“Just the gravity that man has is unreal bro…In that game we played together, the space I had, it felt like I was shooting the ball too much…It’s funny because that wasn’t my mentality in the past. In the past, it was like you know, I have to go out here, I have to share the love and distribute the ball.”

Turned continued to discuss the change that being teamed up with Antetokounmpo has created, “Where now it’s like, no we need you to go out here and score. We need you to go out there and hoop…He’s(Giannis) changing not only my position, but the way I think, the way I see the game, the way I had to prepare for the game…”

It is good to see that Turner can appreciate Antetokounmpo’s greatness and the “cool change” it can have on his own career. The Bucks’ center also pointed out that Antetokounmpo approaches every game with the desire to win, making it clear that he is eager to win another NBA championship.

Given that Turner failed in his first attempt at winning a title, he likely realizes that adapting to Antetokounmpo’s play style will give him a good chance of making it back to the Finals, hopefully winning a championship this time.

Fans are left wondering if Antetokounmpo, Turner, and the Bucks, who have started the season strong with a record of three wins and one loss, will be able to continue gaining momentum and building team chemistry by winning games and improving their record in the Eastern Conference.
