Why Is Myles Turner Not Playing?

Turner has been ruled out with a calf injury. Since it’s the preseason, the injury update is more than likely just for precautionary measures.

Via The Bucks: “Myles Turner (right calf soreness) and Gary Harris (right hamstring strain) are out for tonight’s game.”

Turner had spent the first 10 seasons of his pro career playing for the Indiana Pacers.

After helping lead them to the 2025 NBA Finals, he made the shocking move to sign with their Eastern Conference rival.

Via ESPN’s Shams Charania (on July 1): “BREAKING: Free agent center Myles Turner has agreed to a four-year, $107 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, plus a player option for year four in 2028-29 and a full 15% trade kicker, sources tell ESPN. Stunner.”

Turner finished last season with averages of 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 48.1% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range in 72 games.

He was the 11th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Texas.

Via @brewcitypaul (on October 12): “Myles Turner man Can’t stop talking about how refreshing his arrival to Milwaukee has been Embraced the city, genuinely happy to be here, taking on leadership role already He’s going to give this Bucks team a big boost and new look this year It’s going to be a fun season”

The Bucks will play their first game of the 2025-26 season when they host the Washington Wizards (in Wisconsin) on October 22.

Via Jake Weinbach: “I wouldn’t mind the Bucks rolling out this rotation to begin the season: PG: Kevin Porter Jr. SG: AJ Green SF: Gary Trent Jr. PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo C: Myles Turner Bench: PG: Cole Anthony SG: Ryan Rollins SF: Taurean Prince PF: Kyle Kuzma C: Bobby Portis”
