The NBA Finals are a domain Michael Jordan dominated, going 6-0 throughout his legendary career. Jordan set the standard of excellence as an athlete and businessman, eventually becoming a billionaire.
Jordan sought to pass his entrepreneurship skills to his son, Marcus, who opened a profitable athletic store called TROPHY ROOM. However, Marcus recently made an announcement regarding the future of his store.

Jordan opened the store in Orlando, Florida. The store immediately became a popular tourist attraction for both sneaker fans and diehard MJ stans. Marcus paid tribute to his legendary father with memorabilia and family photos throughout the store.
The TROPHY ROOM gained notoriety for offering limited edition Jordan Brand and Nike sneakers and streetwear. Some of the most popular collaborations over the years were the Air Jordan 1 High, Air Jordan 7 Retro, and the Air Jordan 17 Retro.
The Air Jordan 1 High collaboration was influenced by the infamous rumor of Jordan being snubbed by his veteran teammates during the 1985 All-Star Game due to anger at Jordan receiving so much hype despite being a rookie. Jordan scored 7 points during the game, and believed Detroit Pistons icon Isiah Thomas influenced the freeze-out.
The Air Jordan 7 Retro sneaker collaboration was influenced by Jordan telling Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson that the NBA belonged to him now following the 1992 Dream Team’s legendary scrimmage at the Summer Olympics. The Air Jordan 7 collaboration was influenced by Jordan’s shoes at the 2002 All-Star Game.
The TROPHY ROOM lost significant momentum following fraud allegations in 2021. Sneaker fans understood that there were only a limited amount of Air Jordan 1 collaboration sneakers being released. However, multiple prominent resellers leaked a large inventory of the shoes just hours before the scheduled exclusive release.
Marcus was immediately accused of selling the shoes through networking at marked-up prices while shutting the doors on regular customers. Marcus swiftly denied engaging in fraud and blamed the leaks on warehouse and logistics issues.
Jordan also dealt with adversity last year when thieves broke into a TROPHY ROOM warehouse and stole nearly 400 pairs of sneakers worth up to $20,000.
The original TROPHY ROOM in Disney Springs closed several years ago, but Marcus reopened a new store around Lake Eola in 2022. Now, it appears Jordan is ready to turn the page on the multiple controversies and create a new chapter.
