The Knicks lost 102-114 against the Warriors on Tuesday and Towns’ absence on the court was felt. However, in an emotional message to fans, the 29-year-old’s girlfriend revealed that her and Towns are grieving after their friend passed away.
She took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared her hardships along with her gratitude to fans.
“Thank you for all of your prayers and concern. I had to bury one of the closest people to me yesterday after she lost her battle to breast cancer,” Woods said. “Life isn’t always fair. She will be missed tremendously.”

Will Towns Play Against the Lakers?
Before the game against the Warriors, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau spoke about Towns’ absence and was extremely understanding.
“When he’s ready to come back, obviously we want him back. But he needs some time right now,” he said.
According to one Knicks insider, Towns will be ready to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at the Cypto.com arena on Thursday night. Stefan Bondy stated on X that Towns is no longer on the injury report.
