After the game, NBA legend (and Mavs head coach) Jason Kidd spoke about James.

Kidd (via Ryan Ward of Lakers OnSI): “Jason Kidd on seeing Lakers forward LeBron James record a triple-double at 41 years old: “It’s pretty impressive. I think, I might be wrong, he is leading the league in fast break points. I think. Understanding he is playing the game at a high level at the age of 41, to put up a triple-double is really amazing. It just shows, for someone that has taken care of his body and mind up until this point, it’s unbelievable he’s playing at a high level.””

James is averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 50.2% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range in 36 games.

He has played 23 seasons for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat (and Lakers).

Via The NBA: “LEBRON JAMES MAKES HISTORY! 👑 28 PTS 👑 10 REB 👑 12 AST He is the only player in NBA history to record a triple-double at age 41!”

With their victory over the Mavs, the Lakers improved to 33-21 in 54 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

They will resume action on February 20 when they host the LA Clippers.

As for Kidd, he is one of the best point guards in NBA history.

He had the best run of his career with the New Jersey Nets when they made the Finals in back-to-back seasons.

The Hall of Famer has been at the helm for the Mavs since the 2021-22 season.
