NBA Insider Reveals Heat’s Potential Package For Grizzlies Star Ja Morant Amid Trade Rumors

Ja Morant trade rumors pick up speed as NBA insider floats potential Miami Heat trade package for the point guard.

The word came out that the Memphis Grizzlies were “listening to offers” for point guard Ja Morant on the same day as the Atlanta Hawks traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards in a trade that involved CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. But on the subject of Morant, the Grizzlies are interested in a fresh start, and given the off-court issues plus added injury history, Memphis has enough ground to want to part ways.

The question is, what could a trade package involving Morant include? An NBA insider has offered his insight on the subject of what a potential trade package between the Grizzlies and Miami Heat involving the All-Star guard could entail.

Zach Lowe Shares Possible Miami Heat Trade Package for Ja Morant

Morant is out with a bruised right calf, and there is a chance that he may have played his last game with the Grizzlies. During the period he was out, news emerged that Memphis is willing to listen to potential suitors for the point guard position. For Zach Lowe, a trade between the Grizzlies and Heat for Morant could be rather underwhelming if it happens.

“I saw some fake trade where it was like Wiggins + Jaquez + 2 first-round picks, and I was like, ‘What are you smoking?’ The Miami trade is more like Herro + dead money [Terry Rozier] + not much more than that,” Lowe stated on “The Zach Lowe Show”, as shared by Full Court Pass on X.

Despite the several issues that accompany Morant, the Heat, for reasons of their own, are still expected to have some sort of interest in the point guard. “I don’t sense — and this is bluffing season — but I don’t sense a huge amount of interest from Miami, but I bet they’ll look at [Morant] because they lost four out of five [games]. It’s clear what they are —  they’re an average team,” Lowe said.

Of course, qualms about Morant’s fit with the Heat remain. The panic around the ubiquitous Heat Culture is also present. “The franchise, known for its ‘Heat Culture’ mantra, would be tested in managing the enigmatic All-Star on and off the court,” Basket News stated in connection to a potential development that takes Morant to Miami.

John Hollinger also raised a similar concern in his recent contribution to The Athletic as he assessed Morant’s fit with the Heat. “Miami might also be the worst city on the planet for Morant off the court, and Morant doesn’t exactly radiate #Heatculture.”

The trade drama surrounding the contentious point guard is an evolving discourse that has the community by its grip. How things develop further from this point remains to be seen.
