In a recent interview, Bam Adebayo shares candid reaction after dunking on longtime teammate vs. Wizards.

Bam Adebayo, with his dependable game and big man energy, has carved out a name for himself in the NBA World. Of course, sometimes a stellar dunk has fans praising Adebayo’s ability, especially if it wins the Miami Heat another game.

This time, however, Adebayo went viral for dunking over his own teammate.

Bam Adebayo Shares Hilarious Reaction After Dunking Over Teammate Kel’el Ware

During their recent game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, Adebayo scored some points by putting Kel’el Ware on the poster. Driving towards the basket during the final few moments of the second quarter, Adebayo capitalized after Davion Mitchell missed a jumper.

The NBA veteran caught the ball to dunk a putback. Ware, his reliable teammate, was unfortunately caught in the fire.

Reacting to posterizing his friend, Adebayo said, “Boomed them…sorry Kel’el.”

Agreeing that he did him dirty, Adebayo explained himself further. “100% he was down there, I had a free runway too,” the three-time All-Star said.

“I didn’t know it was going to bounce that perfect, though, and then he jumped…I dunked on him in practice…that was like one of those prime Blake Griffin dunks…”

In fact, Adebayo even reacted to the dunk on social media as he wrote: “Anybody got the photo? Ima put it in his locker lol.”

That being said, it was a favorable night for the Heat, who won 132-101. Adebayo was the star of the night, leading Miami with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. He also shot 9-of-15 from the field and 2-of-6 from the three-point line.

Ware, on his end, scored 19 points and 14 rebounds. He is currently signed to a four-year, $20,466,072 contract with the Heat, earning a base salary worth $5,116,518.

Meanwhile, Adebayo is signed to a five-year, $163,000,300 contract with the Heat, earning a base salary of $32,600,060.

Drafted in 2017, he has spent his entire career in Miami, and there’s probably no other player who is as used to the Heat as Adebayo. Not only is he a reliable teammate, but also a leader for the team to look up to.

Earlier this year, Adebayo shot back at head coach Erik Spoelstra for insulting their players, making his stance extremely clear.

“You’re definitely clearing the air, clearing the room,” Adebayo said. “But you know, all being said we like when Coach confronts us, he just has to prepared when we bark back. We’re all grown men at the end of the day so if we don’t like what he said we can always have a man to man conversation.”

Of course, the Heat are currently trying to make the 2026 playoffs and are sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 28-26 record.
