NBA Insider Says Heat Could Offload $120,000,000 Star To Pull Off Blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade

An NBA insider has hinted that the Heat could move a $120M star as Giannis trade rumors take a new turn. Read to know more.

The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga has been going on for months. It continues to heat up with every new report. Speculation around the Milwaukee Bucks superstar intensified recently after fans noticed that Antetokounmpo deleted all of his tweets dating back to July 2021, and on Instagram, the message felt just as loud.

Nearly every post related to Milwaukee was removed from his profile, with only two Bucks-related memories left behind. That sudden social media reset sparked fresh trade predictions, and now another Eastern Conference team has entered the conversation.

An Eastern Conference Team Is Predicted To Go After Giannis Antetokounmpo

During the 2025 offseason, rumors first surfaced that Antetokounmpo had asked for a trade. It was revealed that the New York Knicks were his preferred destination. Just a few days ago, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst confirmed that Antetokounmpo did, in fact, approach the Bucks during the offseason about a potential move to New York.

NBA insider Jake Fischer later added more insight into why the Knicks stood out to Antetokounmpo. According to Fischer, the energy of New York’s fanbase is one of the biggest reasons the two-time MVP was drawn to the idea.

“I’ve even heard that the rowdy fanbase gatherings outside the arena following playoff victories that the Knicks are known for have resonated given his natural fondness for the emotionally charged support so prevalent for basketball and soccer clubs throughout Europe,” Fischer wrote in his report.

However, the Knicks may not be the only serious option.

NBA insider Sam Amick, in a recent report for “The Athletic,” mentioned that the Miami Heat could put together a package centered around Tyler Herro in an effort to bring Antetokounmpo to South Beach.

“But what if one of the (non-New York) suitors that has reason to believe that Antetokounmpo might be willing to stay with their team for the long term makes the sort of Godfather offer that longtime Bucks general manager Jon Horst can’t refuse? The Miami Heat, for example, are often handicapped by league insiders as a place that Antetokounmpo might be willing to call his new basketball home.”

“Pat Riley and company could offer the Bucks a yacht full of draft assets, all their best young players (All-Star Tyler Herro, promising young big man Kel’el Ware, small forward Jaime Jaquez Jr.) and salary filler (Terry Rozier, if the NBA allows it) to make the numbers work,” Amick wrote in his report.

Herro entered the NBA when he was selected 13th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2019 NBA Draft. In 2022, he went on to sign a four-year, $120,000,000 contract extension with Miami. Statwise so far this season, he has averaged 23.2 points, five rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game through his first six appearances.

If Herro is traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, he could help the team right away. Especially, he would help Kevin Porter Jr., who has been averaging 21.3 points and 6.9 assists per game. If we see Porter’s high usage sometimes leads to him making rushed or forced shots in Milwaukee’s fast-paced offense. So when Herro is present in the squad, he would make Porter’s job easier by acting as a reliable second ball-handler and shooter.

For now, nothing is certain, and trade talks remain fluid, and Antetokounmpo’s future is still unclear.
