Does Luka Dončić Have Any Kids? A Look at Whether the Lakers Superstar Has Children

Lakers G Luka Dončić remains one of the NBA's standout players, but he's also a man who has a family off the court.

When Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić was traded last season from the Dallas Mavericks, it sent him into a transition period. He never really thought that he’d ever be traded from Dallas, but it happened.

A player like Dončić would have to make accommodations for his family. For Dončić, that also meant involving his children, too.

Looking at Lakers G Luka Dončić and His Children

Dončić does have a family life, but tends to keep his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, and their children out of the limelight. Doncic and Goltes have been together since 2016, and got engaged in 2023.

Interestingly, the two had met as kids back in Slovenia.

“I answered this question like a million times. We met when we were 12 years old at the seaside in Croatia. Fun fact: We still have the same group of friends we had at that time. You keep the real ones, am I right?” Goltes had revealed during an Instagram Q&A in 2020.

Goltes also lived with Dončić when he played for the Mavericks in Dallas, and promptly moved to the Los Angeles area after he was traded.

The couple has two children. Besides their daughter, Gabriela (born in 2023), they welcomed their second child, another daughter, Olivia, in December 2025.

Dončić actually took time away from the Lakers to return to his hometown, Ljubljana, Slovenia, for Olivia’s birth. Goltes and Dončić have been together since 2016.

As far as his playing time goes in the 2025-26 NBA season, Dončić has been dealing with a hamstring injury and was out of last Thursday night’s home game at Crypto.com Arena against the Dallas Mavericks.

Reports suggest that Dončić is not due back until the Lakers’ first game after the All-Star break, on Feb. 20 against the Los Angeles Clippers. So far this season, the Slovenian is averaging 32.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game, and shooting 47.3% from the floor.

A first-round draft pick (No. 3 overall) by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2018 NBA Draft, he is currently in his eighth NBA season and played his first six-plus NBA seasons with the Mavericks, earning a place in Dallas’ fans’ hearts with his on-court play.

But Mavericks former general manager Nico Harrison, who was fired earlier this season in part due to the backlash of trading Dončić, sent the six-time All-Star to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis in a blockbuster deal.

And as it turns out, it looks like the Lakers got the better end of that transaction. The Mavericks, at this season’s NBA trade deadline, sent Davis to the Washington Wizards in another blockbuster trade.

Dončić and Goltes have built a life for themselves and their family around his basketball career. They look to remain closer for a long time to come.
