On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks will host the Memphis Grizzlies in Texas.
The Mavs come into the game after losing by a score of 130-121 to the Sacramento Kings (also at home) on Thursday.
They played their fifth straight without Cooper Flagg against the Kings.

Before Friday’s showdown, the Mavs announced that Flagg will be out of the lineup for the sixth straight game.

Flagg was the first pick in the 2025 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball at Duke (where they made the Final Four).

He is currently averaging 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 48.2% from the field and 30.2% from three-point range in 49 games.

The Mavs are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 21-37 record in 58 games.
They have won just two of their last 10 games (and are 14-17 in 31 home games).

After the Grizzlies, the Mavs will play their next game on Sunday when they host Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder in Dallas.
Marc Stein of The Stein Line wrote: “The Mavericks say Cooper Flagg will miss his sixth consecutive game tonight due to a left midfoot sprain. Memphis is in Dallas on the second night of a home back-to-back. It will be Flagg’s 10th game missed this season.”

As for the Grizzlies, they have had a rough season.
They are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 21-36 record in 57 games.
Following Dallas, the Grizzlies will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the Indiana Pacers.
