Moreover, the Clippers were stripped of five future first-round draft picks spanning from 2029 through 2033.

Lawler served as the “Voice of the Clippers” for 40 years before retiring in 2019. Lawler’s reaction hits on the most painful truth for Clippers faithful: the massive gap between who created the mess and who actually suffers from it.
For the two-time NBA champion, the personal cost is light. He was fined $700,000, a minor dent for a max-contract star, and completely avoided a playing suspension. He also blamed “lapses in judgment” by his manager and uncle, Dennis Robertson, who was hit with a five-year NBA ban.
With the league’s investigation wrapped up, Leonard’s trade back to the Toronto Raptors was unfrozen, letting him walk away without missing a single game on the court.
