Anthony Edwards’ Superstardom Transcends NBA With Adidas Announcing Major NFL Crossover Release

Like most other NBA players, Anthony Edwards has his signature shoe line with Adidas and is now preparing to launch a unique pair of cleats.

Basketball and sneakers go hand in hand. Michael Jordan had his signature shoes, elevating Nike’s status as an elite shoe brand. For many star players, it doesn’t feel like you really made it as a professional athlete until you get that sneaker deal.

Adidas first signed Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards to a multi-year deal worth around $50 million in 2023. He’s one of the faces of the company, and right now, apart from launching his own basketball line, they are venturing into football.

Edwards will release a fresh pair of football cleats with Adidas in 2026. They haven’t released any mock-up images, but fans are already hooked on them. People are anticipating colorways similar to his signature basketball sneakers.

Anthony Edwards Comes Up With Stunning Football Cleats

Although Edwards and the Timberwolves got knocked out in the Western Conference Finals, most people believe he’s the “Face of the League” right now. With this new line of football cleats launching soon, Edwards has taken the world by storm. According to Sneaker News, Adidas will probably release the Anthony Edwards 1 Low in the summer of 2026.

A speculative rendering of black/white cleats with a honeycomb design at the bottom went viral on the internet. The three fluorescent Adidas stripes look like they will appear on the back of the shoe. If it helps football players improve their explosiveness, thanks to proper cushioning, the shoes will sell like hot pancakes.

Due to AE 1’s unparalleled success, they had to stretch the shoe’s lifecycle because of the never-ending demand despite some backlash against a controversial video. Now, with the AE 1 low soon to hit the shoe market, the first look has received positive reviews from everyone.

Edwards Squashes ‘Face of the League’ Titles

With all the “Face of the League” debates hovering around the internet, Edwards himself had once denied the opportunity to earn that moniker. Instead, he has talked about his desire for wanting to be a regular basketball player and then going home.

“Well, I’m capable of being that guy. But I don’t want to be that guy, put it like that,” Edwards said, via Timberwolves Clips. “I want to be the guy to just show up and hoop and just kill dudes and go home.”

Although he’s launching a fresh pair of cleats, Edwards focuses on his basketball skills rather than getting into popularity debates. Still, the Timberwolves star remains one of the most influential players in today’s NBA.
