Anthony Davis Made His Feelings Clear About Washington Wizards Star Trae Young

Anthony Davis calls Trae Young's offensive game "unreal" as the Wizards stars prepare to debut together in Washington.

Trae Young is one of the best point guards in the NBA. The Oklahoma legend had spent the first seven and a half seasons of his pro career with the Atlanta Hawks.

However, a trade earlier this month sent Young to the Washington Wizards. Young has yet to make his debut for the franchise, but they are currently building a unique roster that also features Anthony Davis (who has also yet to suit up).

Anthony Davis Hypes Trae Young Ahead of Wizards Debut

Recently, Davis gave an interview in which he was asked about his new teammate (and point guard).

Davis (via Monumental Sports Network): “I think me and Trae can be definitely a dynamic duo. His passing ability, his ability to shoot the basketball… Everything that he brings to a team, especially on the offensive end, is unreal.”

Young is currently averaging 19.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 41.5% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range in ten games.

He was the fifth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after one year of college basketball.

Via The Lead: “Wizards projected depth chart for 2026-27: PG: Trae Young / Bub Carrington SG: Kyshawn George / Tre Johnson SF: Coulibaly / Will Riley PF: AD / Justin Champagnie C: Alex Sarr / Vukcevic PLUS a top 8 pick in the 2026 draft 😳”

Young and Davis also bring significant experience to a young Wizards roster.

During the 2020 season, Davis helped lead the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA Championship (and Young took the Hawks to the 2021 Eastern Conference finals).

Via WizardsMuse: “Bleacher Report has 3 Wizards in their top 100 🔥 Anthony Davis: 52 (Fell from 12th) Trae Young: 57 (Fell from 23rd) Alex Sarr: 82 (Unranked before) Sarr is the first member of the young core to be ranked 👀👀”

Right now, the Wizards are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-40 record in 56 games. They are 4-6 over their last 10 games.

On Tuesday, the Wizards will play the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.

On the other hand, Davis was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.

He has also played for the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks in addition to the Lakers and now the Wizards. This season, Davis is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks per contest while shooting 50.6% from the field in 20 games.
