‘Must-Watch TV’ — 4-Time NBA All-Star Picks LeBron James’ Most Exciting Free-Agency Landing Spot

DeMarcus Cousins has entered the LeBron James free agency conversation, naming the Timberwolves as his preferred landing spot for him.

The LeBron James free agency buzz continues, with multiple teams in contention for the NBA icon. Meanwhile, 4-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins labeled the Minnesota Timberwolves as the perfect landing spot for James for several reasons.

Why DeMarcus Cousins Believes LeBron James Should Join the Timberwolves

Cousins has long been one of James’ biggest supporters, even though the two never had the opportunity to play together. That chance nearly became a reality in 2019 when Cousins signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and was expected to join forces with James.

However, those plans fell apart after Cousins suffered a torn ACL before the start of the 2019-20 season and was later waived. Though he never shared the floor with James and Davis, Cousins has been a big believer in James, as he repeatedly spoke on how the former Los Angeles Lakers star is still playing at an elite level at age 41.

As for James’ next destination, Cousins believes the Timberwolves would be the perfect fit, having reached the Western Conference Finals in recent years but have fallen short each time, losing to the eventual conference champion in three consecutive postseasons. Cousins thinks adding James could be the move that finally pushes the franchise over the hump.

“I think Bron in Minnesota with Ant-Man would be must-watch TV,” Cousins said. “They added LaMelo Ball, who’s also another exciting player. You put those three characters together, I think we are in for some good ball and possibly a championship run.”

If James ultimately lands in Minnesota, he will join a core featuring Ball, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and Rudy Gobert, instantly elevating the team’s championship aspirations.

James and Ball would provide the elite playmaking Minnesota has lacked in recent seasons, while allowing Edwards to focus more on scoring rather than carrying the team’s playmaking responsibilities.

Ball’s limited postseason experience can be a concern for Minnesota, but James can be an ideal veteran mentor who could guide the young star through high-pressure playoff situations.

Meanwhile, helping Edwards with ball-handling duties could make him even more dangerous as an offensive weapon, creating a more balanced and explosive attack for Minnesota.

Landing James will not be easy, as several teams remain in the mix to sign the NBA icon. Besides Minnesota, other reported contenders are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, and Golden State Warriors.
