‘Mind Boggling’ — NFL Podcaster Calls Out ESPN’s Silence Amid Stunning Matt Miller Allegations

NFL podcaster Tony Farmer calls out ESPN for remaining completely silent as fraud and scam allegations mount against Matt Miller.

The Matt Miller situation has been a confounding mess since it first came to public light. After an ugly car crash that resulted in his left arm being amputated, the veteran ESPN NFL analyst has been the subject of some intense allegations that he scammed his followers.

As the evidence and public perception continue to mount against him, one of the most peculiar aspects of the entire ordeal has been the complete silence from ESPN. One podcaster believes that might be the most telling sign about the situation’s validity.

ESPN Shying Away From Matt Miller

The car crash, which occurred on June 17 in Missouri, led to Miller being airlifted to Mercy Hospital. The severity of the situation led to the ESPN analyst having to undergo a life-saving amputation.

To cover the expenses, he and his family set up a GoFundMe, drawing donations from prominent names like Pat McAfee and Adam Schefter. However, in the days since the fundraiser was set up, the allegations have piled up against Miller.

First, the GoFundMe was increased from $10,000 to $30,000 and then to its current goal of $55,000, which raised some eyebrows. Then, the allegations surfaced.

From allegedly not paying winners of his charity fantasy leagues to ghosting people who signed up for scouting lessons and his newsletter, things didn’t look good. Some victims stated that they only heard back from Miller and got their money once they threatened to contact ESPN.

While the reports haven’t been independently verified, the number of accusations is concerning. Yet through it all, ESPN has remained silent. NFL podcaster Tony Farmer, who has never been shy about calling out those in the industry, wasn’t quiet this time either.

“The fact that ESPN is silent during this Matt Miller controversy is mind boggling,” Farmer said on X. “If allegations aren’t true, they should be defending their employee was just involved in a life threatening car crash where he lost his arm. … If accusations are true, ESPN’s silence, imo, makes them complicit in Matt’s alleged actions.”

He later added: “It appears ESPN looked the other way with concerns about another employee — Matt Miller. Just like when questions about [Dianna] Russini and [Mike] Vrabel came up in 2020. Just like when Adam Schefter purchased a sports betting company with Robert Kraft. The pattern is they look away and then when the public notices, they go silent.”

It remains to be seen if Miller will keep his job at ESPN and if the claims can be fully verified. But, even as sympathy for Miller’s tragic accident remains, the allegations have certainly made this situation more complicated.
