Latest Injury News Surrounding Miles Sanders

Sanders was listed as a LP for the Panthers’ first practice of the week due to a groin injury.

This is a little problematic seeing that Sanders dealt with a groin injury back in August. He sustained that injury during a training camp practice, which ended up costing him a lot of time leading up to the season.

Will Sanders Play This Week?

The encouraging sign for Sanders is that he played late into the fourth quarter of their 37-27 loss at the hands of the Seahawks.

Despite having some nice moments against the Seattle defense, Sanders did notably struggle on the ground with just 24 yards on nine carries.

What Does This Mean for Sanders’ Fantasy Ranking?

Sanders is an interesting study in the world of fantasy football this season.

MORE: PFN Consensus Rankings

He is dominating the touches at the running back position on this team. He is involved in the passing game, and his snap percentage has increased every week of the season.

On the other hand, his efficiency as a ball carrier has gotten worse for three consecutive weeks, and he is now missing practice time with an injury.

The combination of Sanders’ struggles as a ball carrier and the groin injury costing him time in practice could open the door for another back to get more work in the coming weeks.

If Sanders improves to a full participant in practice later in the week, he should fit right in around the top 20 at the running back position in my weekly rankings against the Vikings.
