The story surrounding Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini continues to unfold as more details emerge over time. It initially involved photos of the two at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona, in March 2026. The scandal has since expanded to include images of the two from a New York City bar in 2020, a casino appearance in 2024, and a Spotify playlist Russini allegedly created for Vrabel during his losing streak with the Tennessee Titans.
Since reports began to emerge, Russini resigned from The Athletic last month, and Vrabel missed the third day of the NFL Draft to attend counseling. An additional detail has now surfaced that might escalate an already tense situation.
TMZ Reveals Mike Vrabel Rented a Private Boat During Dianna Russini’s Pregnancy
TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that Vrabel and Russini rented a private boat together in Putnam County, Tennessee, in June 2021, while the former was still head coach of the Titans.
According to documents obtained by the outlet, both signed the company waiver before boarding. A source with direct knowledge told TMZ they were the only two people on the boat during the two-to-three-hour rental while Russini was pregnant with her first child.
Fox Sports Radio host Jonas Knox didn’t mince words about what this pattern of revelations might mean for Vrabel’s future.
“The other part of this that doesn’t get talked about enough is the fact that Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, went to the New York Post to try and get them to not release the photos,” Knox said. “I think Robert Kraft also knows… if they peel back every layer to this onion, people’s eyes are really going to water.”
“I think it’s because he knew, ‘Man, there’s more here, there’s a lot more here,'” he added. “And this could get real ugly, real fast. So, while everything is calm now and quiet now, the schedule release, they’re going to be the butt of the jokes… I also think it would not surprise me if this would lead to Mike Vrabel saying, ‘All right, I gotta I got to fix some stuff. I can’t focus on this team right now.'”
The timing of the situation couldn’t be worse for the Patriots, as the NFL is expected to release its schedule in the coming weeks. NFL insider Albert Breer recently predicted that Vrabel would be a target in teams’ annual schedule release videos, and named the Los Angeles Chargers as a team that could take a dig at the Patriots’ head coach.

For now, Vrabel’s job appears safe, but every week, new evidence, documents, or photos emerge, gradually undermining the initial denials.
