Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has led his team to an 8-3 season and bowl eligibility for the first time in eight years. Despite the 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13 action, the Buffs still have a chance to make the Big 12 Championship Game.
The Buffaloes clash against coach Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 14 action to close out the regular season.
Mike Gundy Gives Hilarious Response to Deion Sanders
During his weekly news conference, Gundy gave a hilarious response to a reporter asking whether he had interacted with Sanders before.
Sanders’ name is a hot topic right now, especially in the NFL head coaching cycle. So reporters have tried to find clever ways to get his name into any and all conversations before the popular head coach makes a potential jump into the NFL.

"Haven't had a lot of interaction with him. You know me. I dont have very many friends. Deion is busy making money and commercials. Im guessing he doesn't have time to talk to me. He didn't get to where he is by not being smart"

“We visited several times in Phoenix, and that was it,” Gundy said. “Haven’t had a lot of interaction with him. You know me. I don’t have very many friends. Deion is busy making money and commercials. I’m guessing he doesn’t have time to talk to me. He didn’t get to where he is by not being smart. Haven’t had a lot of interactions with him, but when I did, we enjoyed our conversations.”
Sanders’ Most Recent Link With NFL Job
On Monday, during an episode of “The Ringer” podcast, sports analyst Bill Simmons discussed the possibility of Sanders and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, going to the Las Vegas Raiders as a package deal next season, arguing that owner Mark Davis would not interfere in the immense publicity that would come with such a move.
“I’m with you,” Simmons said. “Mark Davis is nothing like (Jerry Jones). First of all, his hair is beautiful, it really is impeccable. Secondly, he doesn’t care who gets the spotlight, he just wants to be Raiders. That is the perfect, perfect move for them. Shedeur and Deion. People are saying Deion and Shedeur are gonna go to Dallas, not gonna happen.”

Simmons’ guest, analyst Sal Iacono, agreed with the assessment, arguing that coach Antonio Pierce, who has led the Raiders to a 2-9 season, will be sacked at the end of the season.
“This has Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders written all over it,” Sal said. “Like all over it. And by the way, I’m here for it. So Vegas (Raiders) is gonna have a top-three pick. I would assume their coach, Bobby Bacala is gonna go back to being Uncle Junior’s driver. After the season, their gonna need a coach, they need a quarterback.
“The Vegas Raiders with Deion and his son, like I’m in. That would be great. The merch would be the number one merch, the Sanders, Hard Knocks, 10-year contract, like let’s go! What are we waiting for?”
Whether Deion Sanders will remain in Boulder with the Buffaloes after his sons depart for the NFL will be one of the most intriguing aspects of the offseason.
