What’s at Stake for Commanders and Packers?

For Washington, the aim has to be to take a step forward from their historic turnaround last year. Going from four wins to the NFC Championship Game, Jayden Daniels flipped the franchise’s fortunes on its head.

The organization responded in kind, making moves to improve his receiving core, offensive line, and defense. In Week 1, those improvements were on full display as the Commanders cruised to a 21-6 victory over the New York Giants.

On the other hand, the Packers have gone to the playoffs in consecutive years with Jordan Love standing behind center. This year, they would have been hoping to take the next step into becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Those aspirations very quickly turned into expectations when Green Bay pulled off the biggest blockbuster trade of the summer by adding Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys. His arrival preceded an electric debut game.

Standing against the Detroit Lions, the Packers dominated en route to a 27-13 victory. They thoroughly outplayed one of the premier teams in the NFL on both sides of the football.

Parsons, who played in less than 50% of the snaps on defense, will hope to continue adding to the stat sheet. After registering a singular sack on Jared Goff last week, the four-time Pro Bowler will be hoping to recreate his success on Daniels from last season, when he had four sacks on the superstar dual-threat QB.
