‘That Was Supposed To Be Our Pick’ – Micah Parsons Gets Brutally Honest About Cowboys Missing On Top Target in NFL Draft

Micah Parsons was not happy to see one of his favorite receivers go off the draft board before the Dallas Cowboys picked in the 2025 NFL Draft.

As the top 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft came off the board, Micah Parsons couldn’t help but show his frustration for the Dallas Cowboys. While live on Bleacher Report, one of the wide receivers came off the board earlier than expected.

Dallas Cowboys Miss Out on Star Wide Receiver Tetairoa McMillan

The Cowboys have been clear about their intention to add offensive weapons in the 2025 NFL Draft. Their defense has plenty of leaders, including Parsons, but they need help for quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb on offense.

While running back is certainly part of that plan, Lamb needs a reliable running mate at wide receiver. And Parsons believed that Tetairoa McMillan should have been a Cowboy.

When the Carolina Panthers made a surprise move by taking the 6-foot-5 receiver at No. 8 overall, Parsons let out a cry during the live stream. Stunned by the pick, he said, “That was supposed to be our pick… He was supposed to be opposite of CeeDee Lamb!”

When it came time, Dallas instead opted to draft Tyler Booker out of Alabama at No. 12 overall, rebuilding their offensive line after the retirement of legendary guard Zack Martin during the offseason. Booker seemed fired up to be a Cowboy, likely blocking for a running back who could come later in the draft.

Micah Parsons Can Still Get His WR

While the Cowboys chose to address the offensive line in the first round, they can still land a wide receiver on Day 2. Parsons isn’t wrong; Dallas needs to add a receiver to play alongside Lamb.

The Cowboys will have options, including Missouri’s Luther Burden III, who could slide into the early second round. Jerry Jones is reportedly a fan of Matthew Golden out of Texas, but whether he’ll still be available on Day 2 remains to be seen. Golden is at the draft and hoping to hear his name called on Day 1.

Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins is also a viable option, but the Cowboys could still choose to draft a running back instead. TreVeyon Henderson, out of Ohio State, is the name most heavily linked with Dallas for Day 2.

The Cowboys could add him to an RB group that already includes free agent additions Javonte Williams, formerly of the Denver Broncos, and Miles Sanders, most recently with Carolina.

Either way, Jerry Jones and company need to find some offensive help for Prescott. If they don’t, Parsons might put a dent in that couch on the Bleacher Report live stream.
