Micah Parsons’ Brother Terrence Backs KaVontae Turpin After Cowboys WR’s Recent Arrest

Micah Parsons’ brother Terrance speaks out after Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin was arrested on Saturday.

KaVontae Turpin started his NFL journey in 2022 with the Dallas Cowboys. After short stints in various football leagues, the 28-year-old receiver has become an important player for the NFC East team.

However, ahead of a crucial season for his career, Turpin has found himself in trouble due to an off-field incident. The situation has prompted a comment from the family member of arguably the Cowboys’ best player.

Micah Parsons’ Brother Speaks on KaVontae Turpin’s Arrest

According to ESPN, Turpin was arrested this past Saturday for unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana by the Allen Police Department.

Terrence Parsons Jr., the brother of the Cowboys’ defensive end Micah Parsons, reacted to the wide receiver’s situation and defended him on social media.

“I wouldn’t sweat that Turpin on sh*t at all lol everybody got guns and alotta people smoke weed he just got introuble no felonies no suspension he’s good he’ll get fines and maybe some probation everybody should be chillin,” Terrence wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

This isn’t the first time Turpin has been involved in legal trouble. He was removed from the TCU Horned Frogs football team following a second domestic violence case. He had to serve two years of deferred adjudication probation and also complete a 27-week Partner Abuse Intervention Program.

From USFL All-Pro to NFL special team star, Turpin’s road to becoming a playmaker for the Cowboys was scenic. However, it led to him being named to a Pro Bowl in his first season with Dallas, as he was one of the league’s best returners that season.

He is not only an elite return specialist but also a solid offensive contributor, primarily playing out of the slot. In March 2025, Turpin signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract with the Cowboys.

In the 2022 NFL season, Turpin finished with 21 kickoff returns for 508 yards, with the longest return being 63 yards. He averaged 24.2 yards per return and had 12 receptions for 127 yards and three touchdowns in the following season.

Turpin did an incredible job last year, setting multiple new personal bests. He caught 31 passes for 420 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to 92 rushing yards. He led the league in kick return yards, recording 904 yards and one touchdown in 27 returns.

It was a similar story in punt returns as well, where Turpin boasted 187 yards and one touchdown in 18 returns en route to his second Pro Bowl and maiden First-team All-Pro honor.

As the new NFL season approaches, Turpin is expected to be focused on moving past this incident. The Cowboys, coming off a disappointing 7-10 record, will hope to make the playoffs in the upcoming season.
