Jasiah Jervis, the four-star guard of Class 2026, has some strong words about his recruiters. The New York guard recently opened up about which coaches have impressed him most.
Will Wade at NC State appears to have made serious progress with the guard. But Tom Izzo isn’t backing down either. The Michigan State coach is personally involved in recruiting Jervis and building a strong relationship with the talented guard.
Will Wade Makes His Mark Early
Wade has stayed in close contact with Jervis since arriving at NC State, and his staff makes sure to reach out regularly. Speaking to “On3,” Jervis explained how the Wolfpack coaches handle his recruitment.
“I built a great relationship with them. They are always calling and texting with me, even at Peach Jam. When I have a good game, they tell me good job, and when I play bad, they tell me to keep my head up.” Jervis told “On3”.
He added, “I have a good relationship with their staff. Will Wade is my guy.” Wade’s staff’s consistent contact seems to have helped build trust with Jervis throughout the process.
Izzo’s Personal Touch Stands Out
Jervis thinks Michigan State is treating him differently from most recruits. He says the program doesn’t usually promise freshmen immediate playing time.
“They don’t offer a lot of players to come in and compete as freshmen. So the fact they did with me stands out, it lets me know I can fit in right away,” Jervis said.
Izzo’s involvement has also caught Jervis’s attention. “Coach (Tom) Izzo is really involved with my recruitment, which shows he really wants me because he’s taking a lot of time. I have a great relationship with Coach Izzo and his staff,” Jervis shared.
The opportunity and personal attention from a Hall of Fame coach have resonated with Jervis. Michigan State’s approach differs significantly from how most programs handle top recruits.

His comments about Wade and Izzo show that he built strong connections with each program during his recruitment. He has official visits scheduled with both programs – NC State is set for August 28Â and Michigan State for September 5.
