ESPN’s Seth Greenberg Lauds Duke’s Cameron Boozer As ‘The Most Mature 18-Year-Old Freshman I’ve Ever Watched’

Seth Greenberg Praises Cameron Boozer’s Maturity Ahead of Duke’s NCAA Tournament Run

Boozer has been key to Duke’s run so far and leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists this season. Greenberg believes that the forward will be crucial to the team’s hopes of making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this year.

Duke faces a tough run in the NCAA Tournament, with two star players, Caleb Foster and Patrick Ngongba II, dealing with injuries. So the hopes of the Blue Devils could well rest on Boozer. And Greenberg is backing his ability to be the star of the show for Duke.

“They have this one guy, whose name is [Cam] Boozer, he’s pretty good,” he said on “Get Up,” before saying, “He never has a bad game. He just impacts winning every single play. The ball is on the ground, he’s going to dive for it, pick up the 50-50, the ball goes on the glass, he’s going to rebound it. If you play soft, he’s going to knock down the three. You run a double at him, he’s going to play at the double team.”

Greenberg also hailed Boozer’s maturity and leadership skills as he backed him to play a crucial role in the Blue Devils’ bid to win their first NCAA title since 2015.

“He’s the most mature 18-year-old freshman I’ve ever watched play the game. He plays with a stone face, gets to the next play, competes, he’s an unbelievable teammate. How many times do you have an 18-year-old freshman when they huddle up, he’s the one leading the way. The guy is incredible to me.”

Duke defeated the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC Tournament final, with Boozer scoring 13 points on 3-of-17 shooting. As the top seed, Duke will face the Siena Saints in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils go into the NCAA Tournament with a 32-2 overall record for the season and an 11-game winning streak.
