How Did Brown’s Louisville Experience Prepare Him for International Competition?

During a recent interview at the U19 Trials, Brown reflected on the competitive atmosphere: “It’s been great. Everybody’s been playing really well out here… Everybody’s playing together, playing unselfish. It’s been a great week.”

When asked about the most challenging opponent, Brown singled out teammate Caleb Holt: “Caleb holds everywhere on the glass. Hits open shots… It’s hard to box him out, for sure, just because he’s always flying around.”

Brown credited his early Louisville experience for preparing him for the physicality of high-level competition: “I think those two weeks at Louisville before I came here helped a lot in terms of just getting used to the physicality and a lot of concepts.”

That preparation paid dividends on the international stage. At the 2025 U19 Basketball World Cup, Brown averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 assists, and 21. rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 47.6% from three-point range. His strong playmaking and shooting helped lead Team USA deep into the tournament.

With endorsements from elite NBA trainers, comparisons to established stars, and a gold medal performance on the international stage, Brown has positioned himself as both a key player for Louisville’s upcoming season and a legitimate first-round prospect for the 2026 NBA Draft.
