Flory Bidunga is officially the top player to watch in the transfer portal. He recently announced that he’s declaring for the 2026 NBA Draft and entering the transfer portal to weigh his options.
The portal officially opens on Tuesday after the national championship game between Michigan and UConn. If Bidunga opts to stay in college and leave Kansas, which programs make the most sense for the 6-foot-10 defensive stalwart?
Top Destinations for Kansas Transfer Flory Bidunga
Bidunga has quickly climbed to the top of the transfer-portal rankings as the No. 1-rated player on sites such as 247Sports. While a return to Kansas is still possible, four schools jump out as a good fit for Bidunga if he decides to transfer.
Michigan Wolverines
Michigan is currently on a national championship run, and it wants to keep that momentum rolling into 2026 and beyond. With Yaxel Lendeborg, Aday Mara, and Morez Johnson Jr. all likely headed for the NBA Draft, the Wolverines are going to need frontcourt help next season.
Bidunga might not have the same playing style as the other guys, but coach Dusty May would be happy to take him and figure out the fit later. His size, defense, and rebounding could make him a key piece on a team trying to remain a juggernaut.
It’s worth noting that Bidunga had an offer from the Wolverines coming out of Kokomo High School, too.
North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina is currently in the midst of finding a new head coach after the firing of Hubert Davis, but whoever steps in will want to spend to rebuild the roster into a championship-caliber team.
The Tar Heels will likely be active in the transfer market and could be looking for proven production to replace Caleb Wilson, who declared for the NBA Draft.

Bidunga isn’t a shooter, but he averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds while playing elite defense at Kansas. That kind of presence in the paint is exactly what a new UNC coach would want to build around.
Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky had a rough season, and the pressure is on Mark Pope to reload with a talented roster.
Pope has proven he’s willing to spend to get the best players, and Bidunga fits that profile.
A strong, defensive-minded big man like him could give Kentucky the frontcourt stability it’s been missing.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama has had some uncertainty within the program as of late, and head coach Nate Oats might be ready to make a move that will bring some excitement to the program.
Bidunga could step in and immediately take some of the pressure off Alabama’s guards after being so fast-paced and backcourt-oriented.
At Kansas, Bidunga showed flashes that he can be a focal point in the offense if given the opportunity, and at Alabama, he could get the chance to do that on a team that already has strong guards to complement him.
