After an underwhelming national title defense, the Gators want to make significant roster improvements ahead of the new season.

Players Leaving in the Transfer Portal

  • Olivier Rioux
  • Micah Handlogten

Rioux announced his plans to enter the transfer portal in March 2026. After becoming the tallest player in NCAA history, the center will hope for more playing time in his sophomore year. Rioux played in 11 games this year, averaging 1.5 minutes per game.

Handlogten is seeking an additional year of eligibility after spending the last three years with the Gators. He has entered the transfer portal after averaging 4.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season.

Confirmed Departures

  • Xaivian Lee (Exhausted Eligibility)

Lee was a starter in his only season with the Gators, averaging 11.6 points and 4.2 assists per game. He has exhausted his eligibility after three years with Princeton and one with Florida.

Returning Florida Players

  • Boogie Fland
  • Urban Klavzar
  • Isaiah Brown
  • AJ Brown
  • Alex Lloyd
  • Alex Kovatchev

In massive news for Florida, Condon is returning to the team’s frontcourt for his senior year. The Australian averaged 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists this season, and his return is a big boost to the team’s hopes of staying competitive next season.

Fland was Florida’s starting point guard last season and will be back for his junior year. He averaged 11.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds this year.

Klavzar will be back in Florida for his senior year. He was named the SEC’s Six Man of the Year after averaging 9.6 points on 44.4% shooting off the bench in his junior year.

Brothers Isaiah and AJ Brown will also be back next season. The former averaged 5.5 points off the bench this season, and the latter redshirted while recovering from a shoulder injury.

Lloyd will be back for his sophomore year. He appeared in 17 games this season, averaging 4.8 minutes per game.

Kovatchev has also re-signed with Florida. He appeared off the bench in 15 games in his junior year, averaging 3.3 minutes per game.

Florida Players With Pending NBA Draft Decisions

  • Thomas Haugh

Florida looks set to lose at least one key player to the NBA, with top-scorer Haugh considered a possible first-round pick. The forward averaged 17.1 points and 6.1 rebounds in his junior year with the Gators.

Chinyelu was named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and is another player who could be NBA-bound. However, he could also return to Florida for another year after averaging 10.9 points and 11.2 rebounds this season.

Florida’s Incoming Players

  • Denzel Aberdeen
  • Jones Lay

Golden has secured the commitment of Aberdeen, who returns to Florida after one season with Kentucky. The guard, who spent three years with the Gators in his first spell, averaged 13.5 points and 3.4 assists per game for the Wildcats this season.

Lay is part of Florida’s 2026 recruiting class. He signed with the team in November.
