Arkansas’ Trevon Brazile Faces Fan Backlash Over Postgame Skirmish With Michigan State Student

Trevon Brazile struggled in Arkansas’ 69-66 loss to Michigan State at Breslin Center. The 6’10 senior had three points, two rebounds, one steal, and one block in just 16 foul-plagued minutes. He had the final chance to send the game to overtime, but he threw an airball on his desperation 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

This letdown followed his 25-point performance in Arkansas’ 109-77 win over Southern. Making matters worse, Brazile was involved in a skirmish with a Michigan State student while leaving the tunnel. After being jeered for an airball at the buzzer, he spun a towel toward the student, who was celebrating the Spartans’ win.

Meanwhile, a college basketball fan had a different view. He chastised the fans who heckled Brazile and the individual who took the hit. He also gave his piece of mind to the Arkansas player for letting his emotions get the best of him.

Overall, the Razorbacks had a tough time shooting, making 22-of-56 shots for a 39.3% clip from the field. They also missed eight free throws and were outrebounded 45-33. The Spartans ruled the paint, outscoring Arkansas 46-28 on inside points.

Freshmen Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas led the Razorbacks’ offense with 16 points each. Cam Ward led Michigan State with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double and kept the Tom Izzo-coached team unbeaten in two games.

Trevon Brazile and Arkansas return on Nov. 11 against Central Arkansas (1-1) at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
