A Look at Arizona’s Depth Chart After Carter Bryant’s NBA Draft Move

The Arizona Wildcats enter a new era with a top recruiting class and key departures, including NBA-bound Carter Bryant and several portal-based exits.

Arizona men’s basketball wasted no time reloading for the future over the last several months. With standout freshman Carter Bryant declaring for the NBA Draft, head coach Tommy Lloyd and his staff responded by securing the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the country.

While a few key contributors are set to return, the 2025–26 roster will look noticeably different. Arizona will lean on a wave of young talent to help carry the torch and keep the program among the nation’s elite.

Strong Offseason Sets Up Arizona for a Big Year

Several players from Arizona’s 2024-25 roster moved on ahead of the 2025–26 season.

KJ Lewis transferred to Georgetown, Henri Veesaar committed to North Carolina, and Emmanuel Stephen joined UNLV. Conrad Martinez also left the program and is now at High Point. Caleb Love and Trey Townsend graduated after using up their eligibility.

With Bryant heading to the NBA and likely becoming Arizona’s first lottery pick since Bennedict Mathurin in 2022, the Wildcats had to turn the page. Lloyd got to work quickly, mixing returning players with one of the most exciting groups of newcomers in the country.

Four key names are back in the fold: Jaden Bradley, Anthony Dell’Orso, Tobe Awaka and Motiejus Krivas.

But the spotlight is on the seven new additions, six of them freshmen. The incoming class is headlined by three five-star recruits, Dwayne Aristode, Brayden Burries and Koa Peat. The trio is expected to make an immediate impact.

The team also added two international players, Mabil Mawut and Sidi Gueye, along with Harvard transfer Evan Nelson. One of the most talked-about signings is Bryce James, a three-star guard and the youngest son of NBA legend LeBron James, who brings plenty of attention to Tucson.
