It is a new era for the Las Vegas Raiders. They brought in former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to be their new head coach and are picking number one overall in the draft. With newness often comes change, and part of that change could be trading away edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
NFL Insider Shares the Cost of Trading for Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby
Last off-season, the Dallas Cowboys dealt edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the package Green Bay gave up for Parsons is what the Raiders are asking for if they do move Crosby.
Florio goes on to say, “Will the Raiders trade defensive end Maxx Crosby? Yes, if they get what they want for him. Per a league source, the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher.
That’s what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons in August, with the player being defensive lineman Kenny Clark. The quality of player the Raiders want wasn’t specified. Presumably, it’s a starting-caliber contributor.” So, what are some ideal destinations if the Raiders do decide to ship Crosby?
The Detroit Lions Are Ready to Win
The package they could give: 2026 1st Rounder, 2027 First Rounder, WR Jameson Williams.
The Lions are currently in win-now mode. Edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and left tackle Peni Sewell are just a couple of the super-talented names that the Lions have on their team. However, with a lot of great players comes a great price.
So, in the next couple of years, the Lions management will have to pay those players, so their opportunity is to win now. Plus, pairing up Crosby with Hutchinson would create one of the best pass rush duos in the NFL, if not the best.
Adding Williams would be a very nice move for the Raiders. Williams has great explosiveness and speed that would pair nicely with rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the player the Raiders would most likely take number one overall.
This past season, the Lions went 9-8 and missed the playoffs, so their first-round pick is 17th overall. By using PFSN’s Mock Draft Simulator, some players that the Raiders could pick here are LSU Corner Mansoor Delane, Alabama Tackle Kadyn Proctor or Ohio State Defensive Tackle Kayden McDonald.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Looking for a Pass Rusher
The package they could give: 2026 1st Rounder, 2027 Third Rounder, RT Luke Goedeke
The Buccaneers have a lot going for them, especially on the defensive side of the football. They have a great safety in Antoine Winfield Jr., Cornerbacks Jamal Dean and Zyon McCollum. However, one element that they are missing is pass rush, so by bringing in Crosby, it would fix that issue.
The Buccaneers pick at number 15, so the players who were available with the Lions’ first-round pick would be available here. The Raiders getting Goedeke would be a huge get, as he would help boost their offensive line.
The Buccaneers have shown that they can draft offensive line well, so they could find a tackle replacement late. However, that is still a lot to give up, so that is why the Buccaneers would give up a 2027 third instead of first rounder, like how Detroit did.
Crosby Could Help the Los Angeles Rams Win It All
The package they could give: 2026 1st Rounder, 2027 Fifth Rounder, CB Cobie Durant
The Rams got very lucky with MVP Quarterback Matthew Stafford returning for the 2026 season. So, with Stafford coming back, the Rams should try to do everything they can to win another Super Bowl while he is still here. Now, the Rams do have a very good pass rush unit with players such as Byron Young and Braden Fiske. However, adding Crosby would take the Rams pass rush to a whole new level.
The Rams have two first-round picks, pick 13 and 29. Here, the Rams give up 13, so that is why 2027 is a fifth-rounder and not anything higher. Cobie Durant is a solid corner and would help boost the Raiders’ secondary.
Overall, despite Crosby’s high asking price, there are a lot of great destinations where he could continue to play great football.
