The “I love you since” trend has taken over social media. In it, couples post their throwback photos to signify their love and admiration for each other. Kelly did not stay behind.
Matthew Stafford’s Wife Shares Incredible Picture for ‘I Love You Since’ Trend
Kelly took to Instagram to share a picture from their time at the University of Georgia, where Matthew played quarterback while she was a cheerleader. Their relationship didn’t start with them meeting instantly but has blossomed over the years.
“We’re almost in 2025, but I’ve loved you since… 2007,” Kelly captioned her Instagram story. In the picture, the young couple can be seen prepared to head out for a formal event, with Matthew boasting a bowtie.
Despite meeting in 2007, the couple started dating seriously in 2009 and tied the knot in 2015. They have four children together, all girls.
Kelly Stafford Highlights 16 Years Lost to Matthew’s Football
In 2009, Matthew Stafford was drafted by the Detroit Lions. Then, in 2021, he was traded to the Rams.
Since then, the couple’s life has revolved around football. In a recent episode of The Morning After podcast, Kelly detailed the whirlwind of being an NFL superstar’s wife.
“Well, if we talk about losing yourself, like yeah, the last 16 years of my life or the last eight if you break it up, have revolved around a sport and the man I love playing that sport,” said Kelly. “And all of a sudden, you get taken away by the things surrounding the everyday life of his life.
“I just kind of meshed with what I was supposed to be doing or what I thought was helpful to him, and you lose yourself real quick. I literally go, like, 16 years ago, I was 19. I’m going, ‘Where did this time go?’ If I am looking at it, yes, we have been blessed,” she added.
The 36-year-old Stafford will take the field once again with the support of his wife against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Nov. 24.
