Following the loss to the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, Matthew Stafford is spending his downtime with his family. However, the Los Angeles Rams quarterback can’t outrun his admirers.
Thankfully, he’s familiar with this one — his wife, Kelly Stafford. The couple have been together since 2009, and as their family has grown, so has their admiration for one another.
Matthew Stafford’s Muscles Receive Praise From Wife Kelly
Kelly Stafford took to Instagram to document their off day. The couple were present at a kids’ soccer event with their four girls, and the 36-year-old Super Bowl winner didn’t shy away from showing his skills.
While the kids kept playing around, Kelly recorded Matthew from a bit of a distance.
“Soccer dad,” she captioned her two-part Instagram story as Matthew kicked around the ball and played with the kids.
In the video, she zoomed in on Matthew’s toned calf muscles and commented to highlight them to her followers as well. “Look at his calves,” said Kelly, admiring her husband’s muscles.
While the Rams are in a tough spot with a 4-5 record, their hopes of making the playoffs seem bleak. There is also the talk of possibly replacing Stafford by next season. So during this stressful time, fans enjoyed seeing the two-time Pro Bowler enjoy time with his family.
Stafford’s Mother Describes Meeting Kelly for First Time
The couple first met in college in 2007. However, they did not start dating seriously until 2009.
Matthew and Kelly tied the knot in 2015 and, today, have four children. Recently, Matthew’s mother recalled meeting Kelly at the start of their journey.
Margaret Stafford appeared on her daughter-in-law’s podcast, The Morning After with Kelly Stafford and Hank.
“I remember it was after the awards banquet, I think,” she said. “You were at the bar. She was adorable. Cute, tomboyish but fun.”
“I knew you all had been dating, and it was like, ‘I want you to meet Kelly.’ I knew that he was interested in her and liked her a lot. But I just hadn’t met her,” she added.
