How Many Kids Does Matthew Stafford Have? A Look at Rams QB’s Children

Matthew Stafford may be a Super Bowl champion, but his life off the field is defined by the four young fans who have become the real stars of the Rams' sidelines.

Matthew Stafford has spent most of his adult life under stadium lights, measured by wins, losses, and fourth-quarter drives. But if you ask him what steadies him, what makes the noise fade, the answer isn’t a stat line or a Lombardi Trophy. It’s four small faces on the sidelines, usually dressed in Los Angeles Rams colors, watching their dad like the outcome of the universe depends on the next play.

A Look at Matthew Stafford’s Children

Matthew and Kelly Stafford are parents to four daughters: Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler. First came twins Sawyer J. Stafford and Chandler Page Stafford on March 31, 2017. As they’ve grown, the girls have already begun to sketch out their futures. By first grade, Sawyer imagined herself as an artist, while Chandler set her sights on soccer.

On Aug. 16, 2018, the Stafford family welcomed their third daughter, Hunter Hope Stafford. Known as “Huntie,” she’s the kind of child whose personality enters the room before she does, bold, expressive, and entirely herself. According to PEOPLE, Kelly often describes her as “sassy,” though there’s a warmth underneath that shines through, especially in the way she connects with others.

Hunter also happens to be the most football-curious of the group. While her sisters cheer, she asks questions about plays, penalties, and what’s happening on the field. Kelly has joked that when Matthew’s playing days are over, Hunter might be the one sitting next to him on the couch, still analyzing the game.

The youngest Stafford, Tyler Hall Stafford, arrived on June 26, 2020. According to numerous accounts, Tyler is a force of motion and curiosity. From early on, she outpaced usual growth charts, and as she’s grown, her confidence has followed suit.

Whether she’s scaling ropes courses, chasing her sisters through arcades and swimming pools, or attempting to negotiate pantry access, Tyler embodies a fearless energy. She’s also deeply bonded with Kelly, often spending time with her mom.

Though Matthew has occasionally been asked whether he hopes for a son, his answer has always been simple: he’s happy. Being a father to four daughters, he’s said, changed his life in ways nothing else could.

Over the years, fans have seen those moments play out in real time. After the Rams’ Super Bowl 56 win in 2022, Matthew did not keep the trophy for long. Instead, he searched for his daughters, joining them in a swirl of blue-and-yellow confetti as they laughed and ran across the field.
