‘Matt Miller Can Rot,’ ‘Clown’ — NFL World Reacts As ESPN Analyst’s Horrific Car Crash Video Emerges

Even as the car crash video has come online, Matt Miller of ESPN isn't receiving much sympathy after his scandals were exposed.

The Matt Miller situation has been a bizarre development for ESPN. One of the company’s premier names in college scouting and NFL Draft coverage, he oversaw multiple avenues, including newsletters and fantasy leagues.

However, a recent car crash, which led to his arm being amputated, has also revealed a lot of secrets about him. Now that a video of the crash has emerged online, the public verdict seems to be going strongly against him.

Matt Miller Isn’t Finding Sympathy or Support

After his car crash on June 17 in Missouri, Miller was airlifted to Mercy Hospital. Soon after, a GoFundMe was set up to help support his expenses, which included undergoing a life-saving amputation. However, people quickly realized a discrepancy in the GoFundMe amount.

Even as names like Pat McAfee and Adam Schefter put in donations, the amount, which began at $10,000, quickly increased to $30,000 before jumping to $55,000. Immediately afterward, allegations surfaced about multiple scams that Miller had tried to pull over the years.

From allegedly not paying winners of his charity fantasy leagues to ghosting people who signed up for scouting lessons and his newsletter, things didn’t look good. Some victims stated that they only heard back from Miller and got their money once they threatened to contact ESPN.

While the reports haven’t been independently verified, the number of accusations is concerning. Unfortunately, the new video isn’t helping matters for him either. In the clip, taken from the truck driver’s vehicle, Miller’s car swerved into the opposite lane before bumping into the truck.

Even though it was not captured on the dashcam clip, it felt safe to assume the severity of the damage occurred right afterward. However, it also became clear that the truck driver wasn’t at fault.

Driving in his lane comfortably, it was Miller’s vehicle that drifted into the opposing lane and initiated contact, prompting one person to write, “People really tried to blame this on the Truck Driver, lmao. Just happy it wasn’t a small car, or he potentially could have killed someone.”

Others, too, had a similar reaction, with Jaguar Gator quickly exclaiming, “Anyone that supported or defended this clown looks really freaking stupid right now. Matt Miller can rot.”

For some, it was outright unbelievable, given how the situation had been portrayed before the video’s reveal.

NFL writer John Frascella couldn’t hide his shock as he wrote, “Is this really Matt Miller’s crash video… if so… holy hell.” Podcaster Tony Farmer, too, couldn’t offer much more than a stunned “Wow,” as the public had firmly turned against Miller.

Kev Mahserejian offered his two cents on the situation as well, placing the blame firmly on Miller, while throwing some accusations against him as well. He believed some external factors had to be at play for the veteran analyst to drive in such a manner.

He wrote, “Even if Miller was distracted while driving (texting/calling), he should notice swerving into the center like this. Non-zero chance he was driving like that intentionally (or boozed up).”

Fantasy Football creator Kyle also wrote a lengthy post after the video of Miller’s accident came to light. He said, “So, let me get this straight. 1. Dude steals hundreds of thousands of dollars from fantasy football leagues under the guise the money was going to be donated to charity (it wasn’t) 2. Story starts to come out and realizes he’s probably going to be caught soon.”

Kyle continued. “He causes a horrific car crash and loses his arm (on accident or on purpose we will probably never know) 4. GoFundMe is set up for an accident that was 100% his fault (and idiots donated to it) 5. He makes a recovery, doesn’t address the allegations, while people continue to support him.”

He concluded by saying, “Maybe start a GoFundMe for the truck driver or people that had their money stolen by this guy. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out.”

It remains to be seen how the entire situation is handled. So far, no toxicology report has been made available to the public to corroborate the booze theory Mahserejian is floating around. But after his previous scandals were brought to light, this video has further alienated the public from Miller.
