Once again this postseason, Maria Taylor will host NBC’s Super Bowl 60 coverage in San Francisco. The veteran host and journalist has become a fixture on “Football Night in America” and the network’s Olympic broadcasts. She is already handling double duty as the Olympics began Friday.
Maria Taylor’s Path to NBC’s Biggest Nights
Maria Taylor is 38 years old. Here is a look at how her career has unfolded.
Her route to the Super Bowl began as an athlete in her college days. Taylor was a Division I athlete at the University of Georgia, where she played volleyball and basketball. She initially planned to pursue medicine, but a professor encouraged her to consider journalism instead.
An internship with Fox Sports South provided her first experience in live production. From there, she worked on regional broadcasts and conference networks before ESPN hired her in 2014. Taylor became a regular on “College GameDay” and “NBA Countdown.” In 2021, she joined NBC, where she was placed on “Football Night in America” and Olympic programming.
This is not her first Super Bowl. NBC selected Taylor to host the 2022 Super Bowl pregame show in Los Angeles. She later anchored coverage from Beijing during the Winter Games and from Paris during the 2024 Summer Olympics.
