‘Absolute Malpractice’ — NFL Fans Rip Brian Daboll’s Surprise Admission About Jaxson Dart’s Concussion

Jaxson Dart delivered a strong performance Sunday but was unable to finish the job for the New York Giants due to a concussion.

Jaxson Dart had a strong showing on Sunday, but he couldn’t finish the job for the New York Giants. The rookie quarterback exited the game against the Chicago Bears with a concussion, and there was little he could do as the Bears rallied in the fourth quarter to win 24-20.

The concussion protocol was followed for the quarterback, but questions surfaced over whether the Giants executed it properly. The play in which Dart reportedly suffered a concussion came late in the third quarter, yet he returned on the next drive before eventually being removed from the contest.

Giants Fans Criticize Brian Daboll Over Concussion of Jaxson Dart

Confusion over the protocol erupted. The play in which the rookie hit his head on the turf occurred midway through the third quarter and resulted in a fumble.

Fans were puzzled as to why he was able to return to the field and then be taken out afterward. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed that Dart was not checked for a concussion immediately after the fumble:

This left many Giants fans baffled. They could not believe that the rookie was allowed to return to the field after suffering a concussion. One fan wrote, “Yeah just can this entire staff absolute malpractice,” calling for Brian Daboll to be fired after yet another miscue.

Whenever a player is suspected of suffering a concussion, he must be checked immediately by an independent doctor appointed by the NFL before being allowed to return to the game.

This fan was upset with Dart playing without being checked and said about Daboll, “Main reason you should be fired.”

The Giants were fined $100,000 in Week 6 after Daboll entered the blue tent while Dart was being checked for a concussion. The new incident regarding protocol violations upset this fan, who wrote, “player safety should NEVER be compromised.”

Concussions are known for their long-term damage to the brains of football players. As such, with Dart being the most important player on the roster, this fan called for a change of head coach after Daboll’s interview: “If any of the inbred Maras in the front office are reading these comments, it’s imperative that you get this guy away from Dart NOW.”

Finally, with Dart declared out for the game with a confirmed concussion, questions about the protocol were raised.

One fan pointed out that the league’s independent doctor is responsible for taking a player off the field for a concussion check: “Isn’t that on the NFL for not seeing it and getting him evaluated?”

Russell Wilson took over as the quarterback for the rest of the game, but he struggled, completing just three of seven passes for 45 yards. In the end, it was another disappointing ending for the Giants, who now have a 2-8 record.
