LT Overton is an EDGE from Alabama who is ranked No. 46 on my NFL Draft Top 100 Big Board. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Overton’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.
LT Overton’s NFL Draft Potential
LT Overton is having a career-best campaign for the Crimson Tide, and it’s coming at an opportune time for his 2026 NFL Draft stock. The former five-star recruit has 3 sacks and 5 tackles for loss in seven games — both career highs — and recently against Missouri, he was a consistent pressure generator and play disruptor from multiple alignments. Overton’s versatility, in particular, is a strong point of his game.
At 6’2″ and over 270 pounds, with near-34″ arms, he has a rare mix of natural leverage, compact mass, and proportional length. Those tools, combined with his explosiveness and motor on the chase, enable him to generate power and muddy offensive looks from wide alignments, head-up over the tackle, or slanting inside. Creative defensive minds who employ hybrid fronts will be first in line to add Overton to their rotation.
CFB Week 9 Update
Overton didn’t generate a ton of pressure in Week 9 against South Carolina, but he still showed off his ability to rush from multiple alignments, push the pocket with power, and hold strong in the run game. Overton is the kind of athlete who can be nullified by such evasive threats as Sellers, as he doesn’t have the range or flexibility to make plays in pursuit consistently — even if his motor is hot. Those modest limitations might cap Overton’s upside a bit, but in a relatively underwhelming EDGE class, his high floor and siloed power-rush upside makes him valuable.
CFB Week 10 Update
Alabama was on a bye in Week 10, but the Crimson Tide will return to action in Week 11 against the LSU Tigers. The Tigers are reeling after the firing of Brian Kelly, but their offense remains in command of a collegiate veteran in Garrett Nussmeier, and the defense will pose a threat to Alabama’s offense with Mansoor Delane and AJ Haulcy looming in the secondary.
