Detroit Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was in his usual bullish mood during a recent appearance on “Cold as Balls” with Kevin Hart. After Hart declared that the Lions couldn’t win the Super Bowl in 2025 because his beloved Philadelphia Eagles were in the way, St. Brown responded in typical fashion.

‘Hopefully, We Play You Guys, Week 1’ – Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Message to the Philadelphia Eagles
St. Brown made a guest appearance on Hart’s show and talked about Detroit, the team’s recent success, his podcast, and his hopes for the 2025 season.
When St. Brown said his goal for 2025 was to win a Super Bowl, Hart was quick to dismiss it. The die-hard Eagles fan told his guest that Detroit couldn’t win it all because Philadelphia stood in the way.
“We want to win a Super Bowl,” St. Brown stated. But Hart wasn’t convinced and hinted that St. Brown had left something out.
“But?” Hart asked.
“But nothing,” St. Brown replied.
Hart then decided to finish the sentence himself: “‘But we can’t because the Eagles are gonna be in our way.’ That’s what I wanted to hear.”
Never one to back down, St. Brown fired back and made it clear he wanted a shot at Hart’s team. “Hopefully, we play you guys, Week 1.”

Hart answered with a laugh, saying he’d “make a call” to make that happen.
“You want us? You got us. You’re welcome, and I’m sorry.”
Even though the exchange was lighthearted, the look on St. Brown’s face said it all—he’ll remember Hart’s words the next time Detroit lines up against Philly.
St. Brown’s Record Against the Eagles
Looking at St. Brown’s track record against Philadelphia, there might be a reason he’s so eager for another shot. While the Lions and Eagles didn’t face off in 2024 or 2023, St. Brown saw them in each of his first two NFL seasons.
October 2021 – Eagles def. Lions 44-6
Running backs Jordan Howard and Boston Scott both scored twice, and future Eagle D’Andre Swift lost a fumble that turned into a touchdown. St. Brown caught three of five targets for 46 yards.
September 2022 – Eagles def. Lions 38-35
In a much closer game, two fourth-quarter touchdowns pulled Detroit within a field goal, but the Eagles held on. St. Brown caught eight of 12 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown.
The 2022 season marked Detroit’s first winning record in five years, as the team made big strides in Dan Campbell’s second year. With both offensive and defensive coordinators leaving for head coaching jobs this offseason, more improvement in 2025 isn’t a lock.
But St. Brown still has a score to settle with Philly—and Hart’s words might come back around if the Lions take down the champs next season.
