‘Damn Fired on My Day Off’ — 2-Time Super Bowl Champion Breaks Silence On Fox Sports Shockingly Cutting Ties With ‘The Facility’

Fox Sports cancelled three shows hosted by former NFL players as training camps are set to open. One of those players spoke about it on X.

Fox Sports just delivered a knockout punch to its own programming lineup. The network announced the cancellation of three shows on Fox Sports 1, all featuring former NFL players as co-hosts. The timing couldn’t be worse, with training camps set to open across the league.

But one co-host of “The Facility” isn’t going quietly. LeSean McCoy took to X to share his thoughts about the sudden cancellation, and his response shows exactly the kind of fire that made him a star on the field.

What Did LeSean McCoy Say About Getting Fired From Fox Sports?

The three shows cut from Fox Sports 1 were “Speak,” “Breakfast Ball,” and “The Facility.” The former launched three years ago, but the latter two had yet to reach their first anniversaries.

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand recently wrote about the cancellations, saying that the three shows “struggled to find a huge audience.” While “Speak” and “Breakfast Ball” each had one former NFLer as a co-host, “The Facility” was hosted by four retired football players.

The panel consisted of Emmanuel Acho, James Jones, Chase Daniel, and LeSean McCoy. The group covered current sports topics “from the athlete’s perspective.” McCoy recently posted his reaction to the cancellation on X.

McCoy tweeted, “Damn fired on my day off, WELL put me on the trading block. Speak and facility was a blast I got some announcements coming soon but one thing I do kno from (football) is TALENT & DEDICATION always wins see u sooooon.”

How Did McCoy’s NFL Career Prepare Him for This Moment?

McCoy was a two-time first-team All-Pro over his 12-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the league in carries (314), yards (1,607), and yards per game (100.4) in 2013 with Philadelphia.

He was traded to Buffalo during the 2015 offseason and surpassed 1,000 rushing yards twice in his four seasons with the Bills. McCoy was integral to the Bills ending their 17-year playoff drought in 2017.

Buffalo released him during training camp in 2019, and he signed with Kansas City. He played a supporting role on the Chiefs’ road to winning Super Bowl 54, and followed that up with another Super Bowl victory the following year with Tampa Bay. He retired after the 2020 season.

“The Facility” was McCoy’s first full-time mainstream media opportunity, and he seemed to enjoy his time at FS1. He currently co-hosts “The 25/10 Show” with former Eagles teammate DeSean Jackson, but his status with Fox Sports is unclear.

McCoy mentioned announcements coming soon in his post on X, and he seems excited for what’s next. Let’s hope it’s something fun.
