As April 24 at Lambeau Field gets closer, the hype around Cam Ward is starting to reach a fever pitch. Initially in an apparent two-way tie with Shedeur Sanders as the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, Ward has slowly but surely separated himself. Now, his selection with the Tennessee Titans feels all but inevitable.
After a spectacular year for Miami, fans in Tennessee are certainly expecting big things from their newcomer. But rookie quarterbacks don’t usually immediately light the world on fire.
With a wide array to choose from, a former executive gave his two cents on what Ward could turn out to be.

Louis Riddick Continues Cam Ward’s Fandom
Throughout the draft process, former Philadelphia Eagles director of pro personnel Louis Riddick has been firmly in Ward’s corner. Citing his story from zero-star recruit to potential first-overall pick as inspirational, Riddick sees him as a transcendent talent.
Speaking on “NFL Live,” Riddick broke down the impact the West Columbia native could have on the Titans. “I said my comp for Cam Ward, because of the way he plays, he reminds me of Patrick, he reminds me of Mahomes.”
Why? Well, it’s simple for Riddick. “How he can be unconventional, how he can throw the football at all different kinds of weird angles, and then just put a bunch of horsepower on it when he needs to. To me, if someone told me that’s what you’re getting, I’d be pretty damn excited.”
Ward to Tennessee seems like a done deal at this point. The latest mock draft from PFSN’s Brentley Weissman, too, has the Titans adding the Miami quarterback as their new quarterback, with Weissman alluding to the growing consensus in his explanation.
“All signs point to Cam Ward being the Tennessee Titans’ pick at No. 1 overall. He is the clear No. 1 quarterback in this class and would fill a big need for the Titans. Ward is a playmaker with outstanding arm talent and creativity. He can make all the throws and thrives when plays break down. He’d give the Titans offense a much-needed spark.”
Of course, Riddick isn’t guaranteeing that kind of production from the incoming star. But, “My bet is that Cam Ward will have that kind of impact in playing that kind of style of football in Tennessee if they happen to select him number one.”
Mahomes, of course, sat basically his entire first year with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, from Year 2 onwards, he’s had the best start to a football career barring none. A two-time MVP and three-time Super Bowl Champion with five total Big Game appearances, Mahomes has already begun a race with Tom Brady as the GOAT.
If that is the standard Riddick believes Ward could chase, then the Tennessee Titans are about to have an unbelievable turnaround.
