Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Message Resonates With Kylie Kelce

The production of this year’s halftime show was remarkable, and Bad Bunny, who performed entirely in Spanish, delivered a show that Latin America can certainly be proud of. Featuring appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, along with striking visuals, the show quickly set the internet ablaze, drawing both praise and criticism.

Even viewers who didn’t understand the lyrics could still appreciate the infectious rhythms and emotional weight of the performance. During the set, a powerful message appeared on the Jumbotron: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

Bad Bunny’s selection as the halftime headliner drew criticism from certain circles in the United States, including from President Donald Trump. However, the message of unity resonated with many fans, including Kylie.

Sharing a photo of the Jumbotron on her Instagram story, she wrote, “In case you missed it,” pointing directly to the message.

Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny has previously criticized Trump’s immigration policies, which have made him a frequent target of backlash. However, the halftime show leaned heavily into unity and inclusion. The Grammy winner even exclaimed “God bless America” during the performance and showcased a football emblazoned with the phrase, “Together, we are America.”

Another point of controversy was the fact that the performance was entirely in Spanish. Yet, coming off a week in which he won three Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show represented a major win for the NFL as it continues expanding its global reach.

Remarkably, even his messaging of hope and unification was enough to anger certain groups. Turning Point USA announced a lineup for their own “All-American” halftime show that would air during Bad Bunny’s performance.

The conservative organization announced a lineup featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett; all performances were streamed on YouTube.

Nevertheless, the halftime show proved to be a significant moment for Bad Bunny. His 2025 album Debí Tirar Más Fotos debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and just last Sunday, it won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammy Awards. It became the first Spanish-language album to earn the honor and made Bad Bunny the first Album of the Year winner to perform at the Super Bowl in the same year since 1995.
