McCord’s NFL Draft Projection for 2025
McCord is projected to be drafted between the third and fifth rounds in the upcoming NFL Draft.
He had an impressive showing in his lone season at Syracuse. He broke several school records, including passing touchdowns in a season. He led the entire nation with the most passing yards (4,779 yards), completions (391), completions per game (30.1), and passing yards per game (367.7). The impressive showing earned him a 10th-place finish in the Heisman Trophy voting.
McCord is a prototypical quarterback from past years. He has size, good pocket awareness, and good arm strength. He is average in terms of mobility and is occasionally inconsistent as a passer.
In PFSN’s seven-round mock draft by Jacob Infante, he was projected to be selected by the Seattle Seahawks at 137th overall. He has visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants, two teams that entered Day 1 in need of a quarterback.
