Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Writing about Justin Tucker seems like low-hanging fruit, but it’s hard to find a more consistent option at the position in fantasy football. Tucker is known as one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, and that’s shown no signs of wavering in recent years.
The question with Tucker will always be centered around when exactly you should draft him. Everyone in your league will be zeroed in on Tucker as the top option, but does that mean you need to spend an eighth-round pick to acquire him?
It’s best to let someone spend the premium selection to draft Tucker there and load up on another key position. However, if you can get him in one of the final rounds of your draft, Tucker’s worth adding at that point.
Evan McPherson, Cincinnati Bengals
Your goal with drafting a kicker in fantasy football should be to tie yourself to good offenses. It’s safe to say that the Cincinnati Bengals certainly fit that description, which makes Evan McPherson an intriguing option in the later rounds of your fantasy drafts.
After finishing last season lower than expected, McPherson will be a value in fantasy drafts. For the upside he presents as a part of a top-five scoring offense, he’s worth taking a chance on later on.
