Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly Stafford, are one of the NFL’s most admired couples. Recently, Kelly shared a heartfelt post reflecting on what makes their marriage work after a decade together.
Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Reflects on Their Marriage
The love story of Kelly and Matthew began during their college days at the University of Georgia. While Matthew was playing for the Georgia Bulldogs, Kelly was a cheerleader. The two started dating and eventually tied the knot in 2015. The couple has since welcomed four daughters, Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler.
Kelly and their daughters are often seen attending Rams games to cheer on Matthew, who has credited his family’s support as a major reason behind his success. Kelly, meanwhile, has built a career of her own, co-hosting “The Morning After” podcast, which launched in 2021.
Kelly never shies away from sharing her thoughts on motherhood or her relationship with her husband. Recently, she once again gave fans a glimpse into their marriage by posting a video on Instagram. The clip featured sweet moments of Matthew spending time with his daughters, from walking through the park to stretching with them at home.
Along with the video, Kelly also shared a heartfelt message explaining why their partnership works. She highlighted how both she and Matthew rely on each other, noting that she brings warmth and heart to the relationship while he works tirelessly to provide stability for their family.
“People might not feel the same,” Kelly wrote. “But I need my husband. Because the life and family we are building weren’t designed to be carried alone. I bring the heart, the warmth, and the feeling of home. He brings the strength behind it, the long days, the unseen sacrifices, the protection, and the provision that allow our moments of joy to exist.”
She also emphasized that their marriage thrives because there is no competition between them, only balance, mutual respect, and support.
“I build the memories, he builds the foundation beneath them. There’s no competition here, no keeping score… only balance. This marriage works because we choose each other, need each other, show up for each other, and are stronger together,” she added.
As they head into 2026, the Staffords appear as strong as ever. From a football perspective, Matthew will once again rely on his family’s support as he is to guide the Rams into the playoffs. Before that, the team’s next challenge comes in Week 17, when they face the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
