Kelly Stafford and Matthew Stafford have built an empire together. They have been together through college and now for 16 years and counting in the NFL. The Staffords have grown to be one of the premier power couples in the league, and with greater fame comes a closer microscope.
Of course, that isn’t always a bad thing, as the closer microscope reveals hilarious details about the rich and famous figures in the NFL. Kelly revealed one funny and frank reason she hits the gym.
Kelly Stafford’s Reason for Going to the Gym Is Simple
Speaking on a May 22 edition of “The Morning After” podcast via Us Weekly, Kelly and her co-host Hank Winchester nailed down why she went to the gym. The conversation began with a claim that Matthew fell in love with her because of her hair. Winchester didn’t buy it.
“This is what got Matthew, by the way, [my] messy bun on top of the head… This is the hairstyle that I supported all throughout high school and college, and here I am trying to look younger,” Kelly said.
“That updo had nothing to do with capturing Matthew’s attention,” Winchester challenged. “Because when I asked Matthew a long, long time ago ‘what was it that first captured your attention about Kelly?’ Do you know what he said?”
“My a**,” Kelly admitted.
“I am very aware of that,” Kelly said. “That’s why I’m constantly in the gym right now to make sure the booty, amongst everything else, looks better. All I do is legs and a**. That’s it. That’s all I can do.”
So, it appears that every day is leg day for Kelly. Of course, Matthew also goes to the gym quite often as the quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams, trying to keep in shape for his football team.
Staffords Tasked With Improving Offensive Output After Avoiding Split With Team
It isn’t any secret that the Staffords nearly had to move this offseason. Between weighing retirement with rumors of exploring other franchises, it has been a tumultuous offseason full of doubt for the Rams quarterback’s family.
However, after considering seemingly every avenue to leave Los Angeles, the Staffords eventually decided to stay put.
As such, Kelly is now tasked with supporting the Rams quarterback, who attempts to get the NFC West team’s offense to the next level despite losing Cooper Kupp. Sean McVay replaced Kupp with Davante Adams, but the mission remains the same for Stafford.
Last season, the Rams finished 11th in PFSN’s Offense+ metrics. Stafford finished 22nd in PFSN’s QB+ metrics, so the pressure is on for him to improve that rating in 2025. That said, in the end, the 37-year-old quarterback won’t be able to chase improvement forever.
