KC Concepcion is an interesting prospect to watch. He has excellent ball control and is one of the most fluid wide receivers of the 2026 class, but he had a high number of drops (7) during the 2025 season. During the NFL Combine, Concepcion made headlines for off-field reasons, but many in NFL circles publicly supported him.
NFL World Sends Public Support to KC Concepcion After NFL Combine
Concepcion has a speech impediment, which became evident when he stepped onto the podium at the NFL Combine. Internet trolls came out in full force to mock the prospect, but the support for the young player also arrived quickly. Lawrence Tynes, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, defended Concepcion on his Twitter account:
“He’s one of the best humans you will ever meet. Takes time for kids and all fans. He is vocal and intentional about helping others with speech impediments. The “people” mocking him can f**k off and watch him shine in life.”
Concepcion made a name for himself during the NFL Combine. Reports from Indianapolis say the prospect had “great interviews” with teams and spoke about his concentration problems as a way to improve his drops. “It’s something I have to work on. I’m going to work every day to fix it, and once I get that chance, I’m going to catch every ball.”
Concepcion Shares Heartwarming Message After Combine
Skipping some drills during the NFL Combine did not bring as much attention as Concepcion’s media interviews. But the prospect refused to be dragged into the discussion.
After the event, he shared a long message on his Instagram account, offering hope to others who also suffer from the same speech impediments. The message included a hashtag #StopTheNegativity at the end.
“I just wanna say something. If you have a speech impediment, there is nothing wrong with us. I have had this stutter since I can remember talking. This is a part of me. This is who I am. I cannot control this. I wanna be a role model for those who may be scared to speak up, who may be afraid and not confident in yourself. I stand with you.”
He played for Texas A&M during his college career and ended the 2025 season with 61 receptions, 919 yards, and 9 touchdowns. The numbers were good enough to put him at No. 19 in our PFSN CFB Wide Receiver Impact Metric with a score of 81.5.
Concepcion is expected to be a top 40 pick in the 2026 draft.
