On August 26, the superstar couple Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift made it official by announcing their engagement via social media. A saga that began after a comment from the Kansas City superstar on his podcast slowly grew into a global sensation. Their relationship’s effect was felt worldwide as Swift incorporated elements into her legendary Eras Tour.
It also became a symbol in the NFL world, with the presence of the musical icon at Arrowhead Stadium becoming a more common occurrence by the week. Swift has been in attendance for some incredible highs for the Chiefs, including their victory in Super Bowl 58. But has Kelce’s lady luck truly been a lucky charm for the entire team?
Is Taylor Swift the Magic Ingredient for Travis Kelce and the Chiefs?
Swift and Kelce began dating during a particularly rough stretch of football for Kansas City. During the doomed 2023 regular season, drops were a constant problem for the offense, leading to a collapse midway through the year.
That resulted in a 3-4 stretch, during which the Chiefs also lost a game to the lowly Las Vegas Raiders. However, Swift wasn’t a constant attendee at Arrowhead Stadium until then. Eventually, though, that became a regularity.
With that regularity came unparalleled success. It resulted in a particularly dominant 2024 campaign, where the team went 17-2 en route to an appearance in the Super Bowl. However, with Kelce’s fiancée in attendance, that record improved to 9-0.
Even though they lost Super Bowl 59 in debilitating fashion against the Philadelphia Eagles, the overall record for the Chiefs in the 23 games the 15-time Grammy Award winner has attended sits at an astounding 19-4.
While most of those games were played at home in Kansas City, Swift made it a point to make the trip for all playoff games involving her beau’s team. The historic Eras Tour continued simultaneously, making for a jam-packed schedule.

However, with the highest-grossing tour in history coming to a conclusion, Swift’s appearance may become even more commonplace at stadiums across the country or potentially around the world.
The Chiefs will kick off their season in an international clash against the Los Angeles Chargers at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil.
Swift may make an appearance on the road with her recently engaged beau to help kickstart a new season and right the ship for Kansas City.
