Chiefs Predicted To Trade for 8-Time Pro Bowl WR After Starting Season 0–2 Following Loss vs. Eagles

The Kansas City Chiefs are tipped to bring back 8-time Pro Bowler in a trade to salvage their season after a 0-2 start.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in uncharted territory, starting 0-2 for the first time since 2014. At the time, their current starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes was still a freshman at Texas Tech with only four starts. The recent loss in the Super Bowl LIX rematch against defending champions Philadelphia Eagles may be the impetus they need to do something drastic.

Are Chiefs Tipped To Bring Tyreek Hill Back to Kansas City?

A recent article by PFSN’s Tim Crean lists seven of the most high-profile trade candidates, and potential landing spots for each player. He suggested that the Chiefs could revitalize their season by bringing back wide receiver Tyreek Hill, three-and-a-half years after trading him to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks.

As an 8-time Pro Bowler and a 6-time All-Pro, Hill is the most decorated player on the list. He also remains highly productive despite turning 31. Hill had two incredible seasons after he was traded to the Dolphins, topping 1,700 receiving yards in 2022 and 2023. His numbers dipped last season, but he remained healthy and played all 17 games. His breakaway speed remains one of the most tantalizing weapons in the NFL.

However, the author also pointed out that he may have lost a step, still has over $25 million in guaranteed salary this year, and could be a potential PR nightmare. Hill is currently being investigated by the NFL for allegations of domestic violence. Hill’s estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, is accusing the wide receiver of eight separate incidents of domestic violence. Hill, via his lawyer, has denied the allegations.

Crean listed the Chiefs as one of the top two potential landing spots for Hill. The Chiefs are without Rashee Rice, who is currently serving a six-game suspension. Fellow wide receiver Xavier Worthy is also dealing with a torn labrum, although he is likely to continue playing despite the injury.

The other team listed by the author is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are in win-now mode with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Interestingly, NFL insider Mike Florio also listed the Steelers and Chiefs as the two teams to watch in the Hill sweepstakes in a media interview last week.

Teams have until the November 5 trade deadline to make such trades.

On the other hand, Mahomes threw for 187 yards, with tight end Travis Kelce leading in receiving yards with 61.

With Worthy and Rice out, the Chiefs’ leading wide receivers were Tyquan Thornton and Hollywood Brown. They had 89 receiving yards combined.
