After eight rollercoaster seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Jourdan Lewis isn’t holding back.
Fresh off signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Lewis took to X to air his grievances, calling his time in Dallas a “decade of frustration” and putting his former team on blast.
Jourdan Lewis Signs With Jaguars, Blasts Cowboys
This wasn’t Lewis’ first trip to free agency, having tested the market twice during his time in Dallas. However, this time, he took a deal with Jacksonville, and on March 14, made another decision — to speak out against the Cowboys organization.
“Highest-rated slot coverage grade and all we did was match and man,” Lewis tweeted.
Then, in another tweet, he blasted Cowboys culture, saying:
“I’m sorry y’all. This is about a decade of frustration. I’m done.”

It’s clear that Lewis is relieved to be out of Dallas, and coming off a career-best season, a fresh start seemed like the right move.
Lewis was asked if he ever expected to leave the Cowboys during his introductory press conference on Thursday. “It’s funny. Every offseason, I think I am,” he said.
“But this time, it just felt a little different. Because, you know, I had the season I had last year, and people started to recognize the type of player I was. So, you know, it couldn’t be hidden anymore, and [they] couldn’t give me, you know, just the team-friendly deals anymore. So that’s when I recognized, when I had the year, and I felt the buzz. I knew that, you know, maybe it might be my time to, you know, separate.”
After putting together his best season in Dallas, Lewis saw his value rise, and the Jaguars were willing to pay — making him the highest-paid slot corner in the NFL.
DeMarcus Lawrence Also Took Shots at Cowboys
Before Lewis, the biggest news out of Dallas was DeMarcus Lawrence leaving for a $49 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
Of course, the Cowboys haven’t hoisted the Lombardi Trophy since 1996 and haven’t even reached the Super Bowl. While Lawrence recorded 61.5 sacks in 11 seasons with Dallas, it wasn’t enough to bring home a championship.
However, Lawrence believes joining the Seahawks gives him a better shot at a ring.
Speaking in an interview with Hawk Blogger, Lawrence opened up about his time in Dallas and why he moved on:
“Made my home there, my family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there, but I know for sure I’m not going to win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah … we here.”
It looks like Lewis feels the same way.
