Josh Simmons’ NFL Draft Scouting Report
If it wasn’t for a season-ending injury, Josh Simmons could have been more widely regarded as the best offensive line prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. In the six games he started, Simmons put out some of the best and most consistent tape in the class, allowing just one QB pressure.
While his injury opens the door for other prospects to be picked before him, Simmons still should be a first-round pick and could be a top-20 selection. His physical profile and athleticism are ideal in a franchise’s cornerstone left tackle, and Simmons also has RT versatility.
He does a tremendous job of mirroring pass rushers, using his fluidity to match and stay square. He also flashes high-end driving power as a moving blocker in space, and he can knock rushers off-kilter with disorienting punches. Provided that he makes it back to full health, Simmons can start immediately, and grow into an impact player.

Josh Simmons’ Latest NFL Draft Projection
PFSN’s Ian Cummings projected Simmons to be drafted 34th in his most recent 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
Cummings said, “The Evan Neal experiment with the Giants is likely close to its conclusion. Josh Simmons would be an upgrade at RT with his natural leverage, range, recovery athleticism, and flexibility.”

Where Does Josh Simmons Rank Among 2025’s OT Prospects?
Here are the top 10 OT rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to PFSN Draft Analyst Ian Cummings:
10. Emery Jones Jr., LSU
9. Ozzy Trapilo, Boston College
8. Marcus Mbow, Purdue
7. Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon
6. Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona
5. Donovan Jackson, Ohio State
4. Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas
3. Josh Simmons, Ohio State
2. Will Campbell, LSU
1. Armand Membou, Missouri
There are two OT prospects in the top 10 of PFSN’s 2025 NFL Draft board. Will Campbell is the second-ranked of the two, but that’s not at all a slight on him. Campbell is a near-blue-chip prospect, with the makings of a high-end starter at offensive tackle in the NFL.
Campbell has under 33″ arms and plays a bit tall at 6’6″, 320 pounds. But he just makes it work, in spite of those two notable limitations. It’s not inexplicable, of course. Campbell’s elite athleticism is well known, and he’s also incredibly sound on the operational side.
Not only is Campbell one of the best footwork technicians to come out in recent memory, but he also has exceptional core strength, compact power and torque generation, and two-phase awareness. He’s an arm-length outlier you bet on, and you’ll be very glad you did.
