The Green Bay Packers are a young team that is going to be looking to reach that next level after making the postseason last year. One big addition from last offseason was running back Josh Jacobs, who led the rushing attack as he recorded 301 rushing attempts for 1,329 yards (4.4 yards per carry) with 15 rushing touchdowns as well as 36 catches on 43 targets (9.5 yards per catch) with one receiving touchdown.
The Packers are looking to be even better this season after the team finished third in the NFC North during the 2024 season, but they made the playoffs as an NFC Wild Card team with an 11-6 record. They lost in the NFC Wild Card Round to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
However, Jacobs is excited about what the team can do this season and how the roster is looking. Let’s take a deeper dive into what the running back said about the team and what they did this offseason.
Josh Jacobs Discusses the Green Bay Packers’ Potential for the 2025 Season
While appearing on the ‘Bussin’ with the Boys‘ podcast, Jacobs was a guest and discussed how he views the Packers going into the 2025 season.
“When you have a lot of young guys like we do, there is a lot of hunger. Now to have those guys get another year of experience and then obviously we added some pieces… I think we gonna be straight, man. We played the Eagles better than any other team.”
Green Bay added three free agents to the team during the offseason as they signed wide receiver Mecole Hardman, offensive guard Aaron Banks, and cornerback Nate Hobbs. They also re-signed veteran kicker Brandon McManus as well as linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.
While we do not know what the Packers’ 2025 regular-season schedule will look like until the NFL schedule release in one week, we do know the opponents. Below are the teams that Green Bay will be facing this upcoming season.
Home Opponents
- Baltimore Ravens
- Carolina Panthers

This will be an interesting season for the Packers, as Jacobs and the rest of the offense is going to be competing against some tough non-divisional defenses. The potential for Green Bay to make the playoffs is still there, but it is not going to be an easy road to do so.
